No Smoking Please…

“Last puff is better than thousand kisses”. This was the theory of one of my colleagues which incessantly evokes him smoke till the burnt filter burn his black lips. When I cross questioned him, “Why you smoke so much?” I was astonished at his forthright reply, “It makes me relaxed, tension free and slow down pressure from my mind”. I became confused, if he was comparing mind with the toilet pan as if tension will be removed like stool flushed by water.

It is very high time for new SLC graduated who have already entered and are in verge of entering capital valley and other cities that they really need to ignore some of the humorous basis like above one to avoid being one of the smokers. Because it is quite shocking for them at first sight to see several poses of smoking within today’s so called “educated and civilized” circle of similar ages. Of course expectations of every new comers in valley reflects the keen interest in quality education and boundless opportunities but students fuming cigarettes of various brands wildly insist them to think as if students circle are given privileges to smoke. Why don’t they think about the immorality they are descending to their brothers and sister?

Those new comers will see advertisement, go to fancy cinema hall and even choose some of the prominent personalities in valley as their role model but what if these so called “educated and civilized” circles are seen giving a good pose of smoking in the roadside café. The first alternative a recently admitted innocent college student will opt to be one of those “civilized and educated” circle because naturally their unconscious heroism and strong want for proficiency is waiting ahead.

So it will be quite wise to see the hands before they shake and the people they admire with blind enthusiasm.

Who are not familiar with the health hazards of smoking? Even then the smoking among the most educated, civilized and generous students circle is not a new fact. A Series of scenes of smoking within circle of college students that is also near college gates must be quite humiliating for the concerned college administration. Why don’t they tag the fascinating pics of those smokers at the front page of their perspectives? Otherwise this critical issue should have withdrawn a forthright attention. Especially students from SLC level to bachelor are more prone to a bitter experience that is influence of smoking from their seniors, role models, advertisements full of propaganda.

Dr. Sam Ison of Lebanon High School said that he will be using new law to suspend the students caught smoking in uniform and near schools boundary though the district policy doesn’t allow them to do so.

Beside the individual effort, a separate governing body need to be founded on the behalf of student themselves that will track down the rate of smoking in public circle and declare the designated areas for smoking to avoid naked influence on students.
